Is It Important to Win Your Family to Christ or Will It “Just Happen”

I am amazed how many Christians I have met who are not passionate about winning their family to Christ. They are more wrapped up in school activities for their children or extracurricular secular activities than making sure they are plugged into a good church and youth group. Mom and dad are involved in every other conceivable event but those of spiritual nature.

The Bible says in Romans 10:14 – “But how can people call for help if they don’t know who to trust? And how can they know who to trust if they haven’t heard of the One who can be trusted? And how can they hear if nobody tells them?” (The Message)

We must actively tell our family about Christ’s love and forgiveness, but not in nagging way. Truly, good news to be shared is being forgiven and living with Jesus as our best friend. We share every other kind of good news with our family. Why not the truth of Jesus’ love and forgiveness?

There are stories of those in deep dark jungles learning of God and I truly believe God can save anyone from their sin anywhere. But He has also called us to tell of His forgiveness. He told us in Mark 16:15 to “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.”

Begin telling your family about Christ in your home. Don’t ignore their need of salvation. They need Christ. Tell them about Him. If you are not sure how to share the Good News with your family, begin with a simple salvation tract. We can help you get started. Call or write us at Teen Quest and we’ll show you how to begin sharing your faith.

Pray, Pray, Pray. God is all powerful and He will honor your prayers. I believe it was the prayers of my grandparents and parents and their witness by word and deed that showed me the way to Christ.

Live a life pleasing to Him so your family can see your life is different than those around them. When God answers prayer, tell them about it. Let them see His power in your life. Attend a Bible-believing church together.

God can and will use you to make a spiritual impact in your family.
