Kathleen Gray from Church by the Chesapeake in Port Republic, Maryland.
I’m here at snow camp. Our church ahs been coming here for 6 or 7 years, this is my 3rd year here. And snow camp is such a wonderful thing we come every year. The teens in my youth group get so excited when I mention the words snow camp. I try not to do it ahead of time because you know how kids are they get excited and have to talk about it all the time.
Snow Camp has touched my life amazingly its changed me in so many ways, its taught me how to be a better Christian and get in deeper with Christ. For the teen it taught them how to be closer together with each other without all the excess of the TV and the I-Pods and cell phones and all of that. They [the youth] here at Snow Camp get to know each other on a personal level. The message that they’ve gotten [to hear], I know my youth group has been immensely touched [by them]. Each year we’ve had at least one student who’s come to Christ … that’s no better gift then someone to come to Christ, and it just an amazing thing.
Also at Snow camp we have fun. This year I prayed for a lot of snow, and well, we got it! I don’t think I’m going to pray for snow next year I’ll just let God do His thing. There are horses here, the X Barn, the Tinsburg, where you can sit in with the fireplace and just play games with each other and have a good time. There’s tubing the tube of doom, and paintball. There’s so much to do here and such a verity of thing for so many different students. If your student doesn’t like to do sports they can do other things here. In my opinion it’s just been one of the best times. Every year I look forward to coming up here, taking some down time with the teens and getting to know them. And, having a wonderful time here at Snow Camp.
